Rep. Nancy Mace’s Home Vandalized With Antifa Messaging

by

Rep. Nancy Mace’s house was vandalized on Memorial Day with graffitied Antifa symbols, expletive name-calling, and messaging urging her to pass pro-union legislation.

“In the early morning hours of Memorial Day, my home, where I’m raising my two children, was vandalized with Antifa symbols and profanity,” the South Carolina Republican wrote on Twitter. “Although my kids and I are thankfully fine, these criminal acts are unacceptable no matter your politics.”

Charleston police, who first found the graffiti on Monday morning, said they currently have no suspects but will continue investigating. Mace told local news outlets that she is working on collecting camera footage to use to prosecute any of the perpetrators but is thankful for the officers who power-washed the profanity off of her house and sidewalk.

“We should all be able to feel safe in our own homes, regardless of our political beliefs. I sincerely appreciate law enforcement doing all they can to find the criminal trespassers,” Mace explained. “There is a significant difference between nonviolent protests and criminal acts of intimidation and vandalism. I’m concerned too for my neighbors who’ve been impacted by this appalling criminal behavior.”

This most recent attack on her home, which was plastered with profanity and anarchical slogans such as “all politicians are b-stards,” is the second time she has been “targeted for vandalism in the last few months.” In October, Mace’s vehicle “was keyed with an expletive, the day of her last campaign debate.”

Mace said real life is not like social media and that people should seriously consider “tak[ing] it down a notch.”

“I hope people realize just how hard I’m working with both sides of the aisle — a particularly difficult task — given the vitriol in our current political environment. We can and we should do better for our communities and for the American people,” Mace said in a statement.
